What a commission agent does
Acting as a commission agent means PedalCraft finds, negotiates with, or connects a supplier and a buyer, and is paid an agreed commission for that service — rather than purchasing stock outright and reselling it at a markup. This suits buyers who want sourcing help without a middleman holding inventory, and suppliers who want a route to market without setting up their own distribution.
What we can source
Our own focus is bicycles, e-bikes and related parts, sourced through our KONEX International network in Lahore, Pakistan. Beyond that, our general trading registration allows us to take on sourcing briefs for other product categories on a case-by-case basis — see our general goods sourcing page for how that works.
How a sourcing request typically proceeds
- You describe the product, target price, and volumes you're working with.
- We confirm feasibility, realistic lead times and landed pricing to Portugal or the wider EU.
- We negotiate directly with suppliers on your behalf, or introduce a qualified supplier.
- Commission terms are agreed upfront, so there are no surprises once a deal closes.
Commission agent versus direct trading
We also work as a direct importer and exporter for some products, taking ownership of goods we trade ourselves. The trading model section on our main site explains the difference, and which approach fits a given deal depends on volume, risk appetite and how quickly a buyer needs stock.
